Cilimli Vocational College

In the district of Çilimli in Düzce Province, construction of our project is currently progressing, with financing provided by Düzce University. The Çilimli Vocational School is being built on a 7,000 m² site and comprises a built-up area of 1,900 m².

Within the scope of the project, 10 classrooms, two workshops, and two laboratories are designed to be equipped with all the amenities of modern education. In addition to the classrooms, the educational facilities are supported by a 100-seat lecture hall and a 136-seat multipurpose hall. All areas are connected through a centrally located and efficient circulation network.

Functional Features
The floor plans are arranged around a courtyard that serves as a link between the main functions of the project. Located at the centre of the building, the ‘Courtyard’ is designed not only as a rich visual interaction area, but also as an important meeting place where facility users can enjoy themselves.

The academic units, meeting rooms and administrative units on the second floor of the building are directly connected to these areas in an orderly manner. On this floor of the building, there is an attractively designed landscaped terrace for use by both academics and students. The terrace, which offers a wide natural panorama, will strengthen the indoor-outdoor relationship and provide users with spacious and peaceful areas. The project aims to maximise clean air circulation and the efficiency of natural light.
Sustainability and Environmental Approach

The project aims to maximise fresh air circulation and the efficiency of natural daylight. To reduce the adverse effects of sunlight on the classrooms, sun-shading façade materials have been used, with careful attention paid to ensuring that these are made from sustainable building materials. The selected façade materials also highlight the modern and horizontal lines of the design.

On the ground floor, a cafeteria and dining hall are directly connected to the courtyard and outdoor areas, enhancing the indoor–outdoor connection in favourable weather conditions and offering students enjoyable spaces during breaks. Owing to its design characteristics, the building also stands out as a pioneering architectural example in the region.
